Work and School
You decide who to tell, when, and how much of it.
The coming out conversation might be hard enough. Then logistics get layered on top: the payroll record, the benefits portal, the background check for your next job, all still carrying a name you stopped using two years ago. One of them surfaces at the worst possible moment, in front of someone who had no business knowing.
Getting brave enough to have the conversation is work you do in therapy, and our sister practice, Arrive Therapy, provides that. Coaching starts after you’ve decided. We plan the conversation ahead, so you walk in already knowing the answers to the questions they are going to ask.
What your coach does
-
Map who needs to know, and in what order
-
Rehearse the conversation before you walk in
-
Draft what goes to HR, so it says only what you want
-
Check what your employer or school has to do
-
Track every system still holding your old name
-
Prep you for a background check before one runs
What your coach doesn’t do
Your coach is not a lawyer. We find out what the rules are where you work or go to school, explain them plainly, and help you use them. If it turns adversarial, a formal complaint or a dispute your employer is fighting, you need an employment attorney, and we will help you find one.

Not ready to have the conversation yet? That is the work of therapy, and our sister practice Arrive Therapy provides that, with therapists who all identify somewhere under the rainbow.
